Iraq: Did You Know These Facts?

The Garden of Eden was in the area that is now modern Iraq.
Mesopotamia – which is in Iraq – is considered to be “the cradle of civilization.”
Noah built the ark there.
The Tower of Babel was located there.
Abraham was from UR of the Chaldeans, which was there.
Isaac’s wife Rebekah was from Nahor, which was in what is now Iraq.
Jonah preached to the city of Nineveh there.
Assyria, which was located there, destroyed Jerusalem.
Daniel was in the lion’s den there.
The three Hebrew youths were in the fiery furnace there.
Belshazzar, King of Babylon, saw “the writing on the wall” there.
Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, took the Jews captive into that area.
The “wise men” who visited Jesus were from Iraq.
All these things were associated with what is now modern Iraq. Who knew?

Good for you. Most people don't realize that all these Biblical things happened in Iraq. To me, it was very interesting to learn about these facts.

This is really sad Iraq being part of our important history, only to be ravage by war and ISIS control.
