I actually do not celebrate St. Patrick Day, and haven't study much about it yet. I just saw many shamrocks, leprechaun, rainbow and gold pot online for this day. I wanted to find out the history and stories about this festival, but as I am busy with my freelance project, I haven't been studying much yet. I just took some time, and made the very simple crafts for my children - crochet shamrock ring and bracelet. I also found some stories. I hope I can tell a story about St. Patrick to my children tonight. Do you celebrate St. Patrick Day? How do you celebrate it?

Thanks for telling me this. It seems like St. Patrick's Day is not a very popular festival that is celebrated worldwide.

@kaka135 I think there would be many that would celebrate it - just that we don't particularly. We might if we were younger! :)

You don't usually celebrate this festival, do you? I am not sure if it's a festival celebrated by Christians or only Irish.

It is not a day that I celebrate because I am English. However, it is probably one of the widest celebrated saint's days that there is, mainly due to the fact that the Irish have emigrated to a vast number of countries.

Good to know more about that - Irish have emigrated to many countries. I don't celebrate all these Saint's day here, but I have read a lot of these festivals online lately, so I started to be interested in them.

That is so sweet that you made those for your children to celebrate even though you yourself do not celebrate the holiday. My son asked me if leprechauns pinch people on Saint Patricks Day. I could not remember what the saying was so I told him we should it up online. I did last night and laughed at what I had found that said in Ireland St. Patricks Day isn't a big deal at all and that it is just an American thing that has been blown all out of proportion. I know here people get very drunk for St. Patricks Day.

Thanks. I don't celebrate all these Saint's days, but I found them interesting and there are always good values to teach the children, so I always like to find out the stories, and do some activities together with the children if possible. Yes, I read about the drinking part, as some people thought it's a day for getting drunk, though I don't understand why drinking is important on this day. I don't know about leprechauns pinch people, it's fun that your son asked you that. So, what's your finding on that?

Is it St Pattys day today? I dont celebrate it either. I know a lot of people who go on pub crawls on St Pattys Day weekend but I am simply not one of them.

Yes, St. Patrick's Day is on 17 March.I have read that many people like to go clubbing on this day, though I do not understand why. I also read that it's St Paddy's Day, not St Patty's Day.

Aw those things you made are so sweet my friend. I love them. Yes I am first generation Irish in this country..my Mom born in Ireland. So I do celebrate but only quietly..not going out or anything. Happy St Patricks to you and your family friend.

Thanks. I always like to make things for my children, just for fun. Sometimes I wonder what I'll do with the toys I made for them when they have grown up. It's good to hear your are Irish and celebrating St. Patrick's Day.

It seems like this festival is not very popular in Asia. I don't think many people in my country celebrating this day as well.
