I'm Hurting Bad!

I've been on the treadmill again. I am trying NOT to push myself. Yesterday I did a half an hour but had to stop to making hubby's dinner and lunch for work. Then I got back on for another 15 minutes for a total of 45 minutes. I do not hurt WHILE I am walking, but do get to a point where I feel I need to stop. It's at night time and first thing in the morning when I feel the real pain, especially first thing in the morning. Add to that the drastic weather changes. We had spring weather last week and yesterday rain and even hail. Rain again today, though it was sunny when I got up. These changes don't help my pain (Hawaii does though ). On top of THAT, I bought myself some slippers out of the Avon catalog just before Christmas. I followed the sizing chart but they are a bit big. I am ALWAYS tripping when I go up and sometimes down the stairs. The other day I was going down with the laundry and because I had the baskets I was top heavy and fell over backwards instead of forwards... and I had only stepped down 2 steps so not so bad. HOWEVER, last night I was bringing my computer and stuff up to my room because with hubby working nights I like to sit in bed as it is more comfortable. I fell going up the stairs... really hard. It's a good thing I have my laptop on a cooling tray because I smacked it on the floor. And now, now it's time for me to force myself onto the treadmill. You can bet I won't be doing 45 minutes today.

I'm quite glad we don't have two storeys although I was always very envious of anyone who did when I was a child. I actually didn't know anyone who did as most houses in Australia, especially then, were what you call bungalows I think.

I have 4 levels, with three sets of stairs. It's a side-split. Not sure you have those there. There is an entry level with just a powder room and family room. Then something like 8 steps to go down to the basement (which is where I fell going down with the laundry); five steps to go up to the living room/dining room/kitchen; then 7 steps to go up to the bedrooms (which is where I fell with the computer, right at the top. Now with my fibromyalgia I wish we were in a bungalow or a ranch style home, but moving is a drag.

@patgalca Yes, I can imagine that moving would be difficult. It is difficult at the best of times.

Please be careful, accidents at home can be just as devastating

I know. But they can be pretty funny to onlookers.

Perhaps you'd be better to leave the slippers either upstairs or down before you do get hurt.

You are pretty lucky that you didn't get seriously hurt falling up and down the stairs.

I know. Everyone in the house though thinks it's funny. We used to hear my daughter falling when she went up the stairs, followed by silence and then "I'm all right, I'm okay." LOL!!
