Photo study – steampunk group

I have taken part in many photoshoots over the years both as model and photographer.
Here I was very much in photographer mode. The models are all unpaid non-professionals and the group we belong to (Faint Fascinations) gets would-be models a portfolio by having them work with equally amateur photographers to get something more than a standard point and click photo image. No one gets paid for this.
The theme for this shoot was Steampunk, and our models arrived in science-fiction adorned Victorian / Edwardian garb, with cog and clockwork adorned hats, goggles, cloaks, etc, with some bearing laser firing muskets. Such shoots are immense fun to be involved in, on either side of the camera, and an important move away from selfie culture.

@Ronrybs not seen that one - there is a fun one called Zombies At Tiffanies which is as much Steampunk as a zombie-fest

I first encountered steampunk on a tv show I was watching called "Oddities". Great show and interesting fashion/cultural statement.

An ex-girlfriend used to organize steampunk parties at the tattoo shop where she worked. I just don't have any cool clothes like the ones in your photo.

a culture that have always fascinated me, but never even been to something where people dressed like that, not really in an area for such things at the moment

We are currently watching the short lived Legend series. Tons of fun. Steam punk Western- bad guys get their comeuppance via the guy next door scientist. (He zips around in a hot air balloon and steam run truck affair. He also zaps bad guys with electrical bolts etc.) Richard Dean Anderson- McGyver- is fantastic as the author dude in it. Hilarious. Not sure why the show only went for a year.

That's a great idea. Vince did some professional type shots for a niece who is keen to follow a modelling/acting career.
