I B S is what I have. It is what probably every person in America has due to the terrible eating habits. For one we drink too much beer, eat too many cheeseburgers and consume way too much soda pop.
If you know what I B S is you are probably a sufferer, like I am.
If you don't know what it is I will tell you. It is a digestive disorder that can cause constipation at times and diarrhea at other times. It is triggered by stress but is also caused by bad health habits including consumption of milk with hormones and antibiotics, bread with wheat gluten. A condition many are familiar with is called Celiac Disease. The other is called Lactose Intolerance.
Taking broad spectrum antibiotics for too long can kill good bacteria in the gut and promote the development of bad bacteria in abundance such as E-coli.
There is a certain amount of E-coli in the intestine which is necessary for normal digestive function but when that level is too high it causes cramping, bloating, gas, diarrhea, indigestion. Being stressed out can cause acid reflux disease or GERD which is an acronym for Gastroesophageal reflux disease.
An upper GI test can confirm this. Another thing that usually comes along with this IBS condition is a dependency on Pro-biotics to aid in the normal flora of the gut but will backfire if alcohol, coffee, chocolate, spicy or greasy foods are the mainstay diet.
GERD is often treated by that popular purple pill, Nexium, which is a PPI, short for proton pump inhibitor. But many believe now that this medication is unsafe long term so there is a split in the general consensus about the purple pill.
