~If Your Getting One-Don't Read About People's Experience On Google!~

Oh wow, sorry fella's you really might not want to read this topic. I don't do it to you often though so be grateful for that. If you want to read and respond your welcome to though. As for any women that are thinking about getting an IUD for birth control. Holy cow-do NOT read what other women have to say about it before getting one. I made that mistake last night. I have decided on getting the Paraguard, and now I am terrified! My sister told me it is nowhere near as bad as the natural labor I went through 4 times-well that's good at least. Lol. She said it was just a big pinch and then it's done. I don't handle "pinches" well-I hate shots and blood work-IV's forget it I am a HUGE baby! Freak out level-99% right now! I know it will be worth the pain since we don't want anymore children BUT I really hate pinch kind of pain so I will have to pray a LOT before getting this done! I have to make the appointment on Monday...

I dont blame you one bit Lovings. Never had those types of devices never. I wouldnt have been able to go through with it too scared. Googling is so helpful to find stuff out, but yes, it can instill the fear in you. I wish you blessings on it friend.

@Tiarasoceanview Yeah the thought of it makes me want to run and hide. Lol. I probably shouldn't have read anything about it until after it was done-but I am a curious type of person. Thank you.

If you know that you don't want any more children, what about a vasectomy for your husband ?

@Tampa_girl7 It costs a lot of money that we don't have, I am on medicaid so the IUD is free for me to get it. He doesn't have insurance.

@LovingMyBabies the state of Mississippi pays. At least they did in the past. Check your Health Department. It was part of their birth control program. You may meet their requirements.

@LovingMyBabies I just searched it. If your income is below a certain amount and depending on how many are in your family....it could be free in the state of Florida too.

Sounds like you have enough children now and don't need any more. If it is just a little pinch then that should be pretty easy.

@Marcyaz Yeah we are definitely done having children. However, an IV hurts me way more than natural labor does so that pinch terrifies me!

@LovingMyBabies I had one child naturally and I would prefer a pinch any day.

@Marcyaz Lol, all our bodies are different, I am hoping it's not as bad as I am thinking right now.

I'm not a fan of pain either, that is why opted to have my tubes cut and cauterized when I had our second child by C-section. Good luck with this.

@Juliaacv Ouch that sounds really painful and so not good. =( I'm hoping the IUD isn't as bad as I think it will be. I am such a baby.

@LovingMyBabies You've got so much to keep your mind occupied that you will probably do just fine. How is the darling Julian doing today?

@LovingMyBabies From what I hear she is correct. Even after having it done with my C-section, I still felt burning awful pain for quite a while after that. But it was for the best because we were told no more children by my doctors.

While I am like you and don't like needles, I could handle the procedure. It is the possible side effects that would scare me. It also can fail. I am still trying to convince my husband to go for the big snip, but he is being a big baby about it.

@Morethanamom Okay, if you cannot handle needles either and got it done then I guess I can handle it too. My husband is a baby about getting that done too, although I am trying to convince him of the same as well. Good luck to both of us on that!!

Ouch! I think each woman is different and is comfortable using a certain kind of IUD for whatever reason. Some have had personal issues, family hirstory, etc. Some woman's threshold of pain is different too.

When we decided that our family was large enough I had a tubal ligation. Five children were enough.

@Morleyhunt I think the IUD is more than enough pain for me. I have been through enough.

My husband had a vasectomy so I didn't have to go through any procedures. I was always very grateful to him for doing this. It wasn't all that common at the time.

@JudyEv I am really glad for you that he did that. I think that is the right thing to do since we go through so much pain! If we had the money to do it I wouldn't give my husband a choice-it would be that or no intimacy at all. But since he doesn't have insurance and I do, looks like I get to go through more pain!
