Tasty Twiglets

Yeast extract, in the form of Vegemite or Marmite, can be a bit of an acquired taste: you either love it or you hate it. To quote the wizard Rincewind, from Terry Pratchett's "The Last Continent", it's "...salty-tasting beery brown gunk.". As I am quite partial to a hot, buttered crumpet with a smear of Marmite on it now and then, I thought I'd retry that party-time favourite, Twiglets, as my local Tesco was selling off unsold stock at reduced price. Short, inch-long knobbly Twiglets, baked crisp and lightly coated with yeast extract, I can only imagine that the inventor of this popular party snack designed the salty, mouth-twistingly, dry twig-like inconsequential nibble half-way through an extended pub-crawl. Mr. Bean's attempt to provide his New Year's Eve party guests with this nibble as a snack is probably the best, and funniest, part of the Twiglet experience - here's a 3-minute clip, just to whet your appetite...
Mr Bean has a very strange way to feed his guests at his NYE party.... FOR MORE BEAN CLICK HERE: http://bit.ly/1rhPvax Stay tuned, click here: http://bit.ly/...

I don't like twiglets or marmite, and I'm afraid I certainly don't like Mr Bean. Don't know why I'm responding to this post really

I don't really understand why people eat or drink anything that is an acquired taste. If it tastes bad the first time I try something, I don't try it again. What's the point?

I like Mr. Bean, but I don't really find him funny. Maybe he's an acquired taste too.

Perhaps. Originally, each episode contained 2 x 15-minute shorts, and that was usually adequate. Since then, at least one full-length movie has been made, and it is excruciating to watch after the first 30 minutes or so.

@ElizabethWallace Robin Williams had a way of seeing and expressing everyday things that was unique. I remember his routine describing the creation of the game of golf, no divot left unturned. A great loss.
Robin williams explains how golf was invented, RIP

@pgntwo I like dry wit or complete zaniness like with the late great Robin Williams.

I love marmite and the Mr Bean classic made me roar with laughter. It is the only Mr Bean one I find entertaining otherwise I can not stand his shows!

I love marmite but don't like twiglets that much. Bovril seems to be making a comeback too as I'm seeing that everywhere these days
