The fluidity of time

I swear time flies when you don't want it too, and crawls when you do. My days off ALWAYS seem to just fly past, while work days do not. I bet I am not the only one that notices that. It makes me wonder just how much perspective affects actual time. I know a clock, a second, a minute, an hour, are finite measurements. But is time really finite?
It makes you wonder doesn't it.

Time will end when eternity begins for each of us.
I have noticed that myself more than once - many times. Since I've been retired it seems days are speeding by and slowing down. This past week went so slow I kept wondering when Saturday would get here. It finally did and now it's almost over.

@Jessicalynnt Enjoy your weekend. I've had a very long week-end so far and I'm enjoying it for the most part, especially the part where I don't need to set an alarm clock. Retirement is great!

@just4him I do look forward to that, but hopefully before retirement, if he gets military the goal is to get to where i only work part time, then not at all

lol, I am not convinced it does. I wonder if the restraints we place on it are our attempt to keep track of it and measure it because it appears we can, but perhaps that is an illusion

@Jessicalynnt That is one thing we cannot do is control time. Or what we perceive to be time. It just happens. The said and nights go on as they always did. I don't think there is a different speed for good times and bad. It just feels that way to us.

@inertia4 I think time itself doesn't change, but I also think it doesn't work like we think it does. we just measure what we think is correct, but it's less one directional and really multidimensional, so there might be speeds, dunno

Time flies when you spend it happily and usefully and vice versa.

Now that I’m retired I’ve realized that the reason time always crawled when I was at work is because I kept looking at the time, if you remove all time pieces from the work place and simply keep working you’ll find that time doesn’t crawl as badly ….. same thing about waitin for that pot o water to boil.

I am lucky then, the only thing that has a similarity to a schedule is letting miss Ally out to do her stuff and feeding her, she’d never let me sleep too long if she needed to go or got hungry @Jessicalynnt

@Jessicalynnt The plastic is worse. They make you bite down hard until you're sure it must be cutting your gum.

Hmm well it's like whatever we have in the present we should just make the most out of it and enjoy it to the core reason being you are right time is something which seems to be fleeting away as quickly as it can and so we should just live in the moment in a way like there is no tomorrow.

Time always passes by way to fast when you are having fun or don't want it to.

I think the more enjoyment you get - the quicker the time flies by

Have a sound sleep.
