Photo taken by me – my Homer Simpson Tee Shirt.

I’m into the final week of preparations for weekend’s big Eastercon science fiction convention, so I did lots of laundry and started getting things together that I’ll be taking to the convention with me. Convention wear is mostly casual and it is quite common for fans to show off their best unusual tee-shirts. I have a modest collection and I thought I would photograph them to have souvenirs of them before they wear out too much to wear. Sometimes friends are keen to see what shirt I have on and often seem disappointed when it is one they have seen me wearing before. I did a little shopping and settled some monthly bills I have to pay. My mum had a long appointment with the family doctor over her heart condition and to arrange her medications for the next month or so. It was worrying that she was gone an unusually long time but the doctor was running late with another patient he had to see first. My mum was fine. Arthur Chappell

haven't been to a con in a few years, the one I used to go up to in Washington state was fun, I went to Dallas Comic con once and it was little more than a room full of crud to buy, and pay really high amounts to see random people in side rooms. only one place to eat, line was hours long. nothing to drink other than from that one place. Was lame.

@Jessicalynnt I have seen media cons like that - the one I'm going to is a 70 year old literary convention, I have been going for 21 years and it is always very good.

Glad your mum is fine. This convenience sounds interesting. T-shirts are always fun.

It is good that your mother has recovered so well. Is the convention just for the day or is it over a weekend?
