I like to work for a sickly boss

I like to work for a sickly boss, preferably one who is lazy as well. I am fortunate that my current immediate boss is very sickly, but he is not lazy. My friend is fortunately to get a sickly and a lazy boss. Our employment law allows 14 days of sick leave in a given year. The work culture in many companies frowns on taking sick leave, even if you are really sick. Some people use their vacation leaves so that they do not have any record of sick leave. In some companies, the bosses will look at the number of sick leaves taken in a year to decide on salary increment. That is why it is very stressful to work in such environment. I rather work for a sickly boss who takes sick leave frequently, and is compassionate when others fall sick.

It is good that he is more understanding about others being sick and not like most bosses and think it is against the law to be off work sick!

Yes, there are some nasty bosses. My friend told me that her boss asked her to return to work after seeing a doctor, and even though the doctor gave her medical certificate to rest at home, her boss still forced her to work till 3 pm.

@scheng1 That is awful. It is not against the law for bosses to do such things which I think it should be.

Ya, those who do not get sick, and always work 14 hours a day are the worst kind of bosses.

@scheng1 They would feel like why they can manage not to get sick while their employees could not.

I guess I was lucky enough to have bosses who are not sickly and not lazy but no stress working with them.

That is fortunate. If your boss is understanding and does not give you too much stress, that is the best kind of bosses you can ever get.
