Sometimes Things Aren't As Easy As They Seem

In "I Got Myself Out of a Mess" I mentioned how I was able to cancel authorization for the National Benefit Authority (NBA) to work on my behalf to get my eligibility for the Disability Tax Credit. And I received my credit for the year 2005 with the years 2006-2014 to come.
I received a phone call from the NBA yesterday. They said I will not get the rest of my money if I don't give them authorization to ask for the money to be released. I said I had already gotten my eligibility, so why wouldn't I get the rest of the money. Blah, blah, blah. I swore at her telling her she was taking half my money and that I would contact the government.
I called the government yesterday and all they require from me is a letter releasing the funds to my husband (it's a joint bank account so that part is irrelevant). The letter was to have both our signatures and social insurance numbers on them. I asked about the delay, which they said they were waiting for more information from the doctor. I asked why the money would not be released since it was already applied for. It took awhile for me to understand, or it took her awhile to use the words that made it clear. Because I cancelled the authorization for the NBA that made the request null and void.
The woman I spoke to was very sympathetic to the situation of the NBA taking 45% of the money and emphasized all I needed to do was send a letter.
I got a call from the lawyer's office as well stating that they found the correspondence from the Disability Pension Plan applications, denials and appeal... and denial. I will pick that paperwork up today. Hopefully I can get my pension now too. Even better if it's retroactive.
So, my dear friends, I still need fingers crossed, prayers, whatever you do to send positive vibes my way.

The lawyers here want close to 60% of what you would get. That is ludacris. Hope it goes smoothly and speedily for you.
