Helping someone get a match

I have registered with a matrimonial site just to help someone get a match. Falling in love and getting married is not quite so common this part of the globe. In any case a relationship needs to be built up from day one of one's married life as the platform on whatever mingling that one does before marriage vanishes and a new platform presents itself.
We hear of so many broken marriages even after they had known each other for years before getting married.
This friend of mine has a job in the UK and wants a partner who would be interested in settling down in the UK.
I have not yet found anyone.
What is your opinion going through matrimonial sites.

@allknowing They must have worked for many people, but I suppose it is down to chance in the end.

These sites are existing since many years and as you say the fact that they have not disappeared shows that they could be helpful.

I didn't know that there is such a site.. But I have introduced two sets of couples in the past and both couples ended up happily married .. One couple I introduced to one another, ended up in divorce .. since then, I stopped match making .

You should not have stopped as it is evident they did not work on their marriage. There is so much of work one needs to do for a marriage to be successful.

There is no difference with other ways to find a partner. I think you need to be lucky. My brother married after 10 years he met his girlfriend and they divorced after 14 years together. I married only after 8 months I knew my husband we are still together after 44 years.

I have always maintained it has a lot to do with how one works through making a marriage successful.

There are certain basic qualities one looks for in each other and with the help of that and with a bit of knowing each other marriages could be worked on for them to be successful.

There are several steps one needs to take before one says I do.
