In my country, dengue fever will be the next thing to happen in a yearly basis. It is commonly transmitted by infected mosquito. The mosquito’s colony will be in widespread if it will not be prevented by the local people. The first thing to do is to take time cleaning the surroundings and remove any basins that could live by the insects. The next thing to avoid being infected with dengue is simply protecting oneself from being bitten by mosquitoes. There is no other way to be prevent this by having self-discipline and awareness of such disease. Summer break is fast approaching and let us have some fun in this season.

a lot of my family members had to go through the ordeal of dengue. its very dangerous.. they strike anytime, not just summer unfortunately. i remember late last year, the blood banks and hospitals were saving a lot of blood supplies for possible upcoming dengue patients. true that we have to keep our area clean such as avoiding stagnant water and close the door always to keep them from comin in.

I am also a victim of such disease. I didn't even know how. I was on my field work that time.

@MGjhaud I wasn't on panic that time. Since I am in a medical field and know what to do. So I let myself be hospitalized. But it is really scary if the strains are too strong and severity of dengue.

Oh yes, I agree with you there 100%. Dengue is here to stay, sadly and unfortunately. If we should just always clean the surrounding areas and keep ourselves protected.

@Shavkat yes, NO to mosquito bites. My kids wear pj's when in the house. We clean everyday our surroundings and habitual spraying of anti mosquitoes plus mosquito repellant lotion.

Mosquitoes are common here. It's even hard to avoid the. I haven't had a dengue luckily, but I had chikungunya fever once.
