When I was a child, I observed that during lent season specifically Good Friday, the church goers were so plenty. If you go to the church at 1:00 P.M. to hear the 7 last words, you can't get inside the church whereas now, you can count the people who attended the mass or only few attended.
Is this because this days has so many religion exist? People were already divided to many religion, so you can see only few attended the mass. Or maybe, some didn't hear the mass because of too much heat?
In your respective places, did you observed this also?

Most people are already enjoying swimming in the beach. I live near the lake and the beaches nearby are already full of people. Back then, people won't go swimming during Good Friday. But it's a lot different now. I also remember a time where TV networks don't have telecasts but today they are business as usual.

No, I don't go yesterday since no one's going to be with grandma. But I have gone to such activity were they revealed their past sins to other people. it's crazy how they reveal it when their old. Few people attended because some are busy with work or needs a vacation badly. I can't blame them, and some are having a faith crisis, like me.

I see, what I can advise you, just read psalms, there are many verses there that can help your problem about faith, I know you believe that there is God, I think you only need some time to unwind so that you can solve your faith crisis.

@ida123 yes, and this morning, I thought there were just a few people who want to confess, but we were many, and 3 priests heard our confessions.

I attended mass yesterday and yes, I noticed that too that only a few people attended mass.
It wasn't like before when I couldn't even sit inside the church because there are lots of people. I just don't know if that was also the case this afternoon.

On Good Friday , i don't go to church but just at home and hear the 7 Last Words then just watch the procession . But we see to it that we go to church on Easter Sunday , because it's the culmination of the Lent Season .
What is important is you get to reflect and pray and do some fasting and abstinence during this week . The others are just rituals or traditions .

Maybe it's because Catholics build a lot of churches nowadays. Unlike before that there were few churches. Like in our place where in each barangay has one church. So only few went to hear mass in the Cathedral.

We have so many churches in our place and there are always so many people attending the Mass, specially this Lenten season when there are so many pilgrims.
