My wife and I were watching the previews and promos on a DVD for the movie we watched last night, "LEAP YEAR," and she saw a promo for the show "Royal Pain." She thought the show looked interesting and asked if it was on Netflix. The show is on Netflix and we watched Season 1 Episode 1 today after we got home. The show does seem interesting and K liked it. I watched it thinking to myself how most of the rich people they were emulating on the show are second, third, and fourth generation money and how most of them have all those riches and never actually worked a day in their lives for a dime of it. I was reminded of why the only tax the Founding Fathers mostly agreed on was an Estate Tax to keep such accumulations of wealth in the hands of a few from happening. Well, that didn't work. Have you ever watched Royal Pain? Do you like the show? (No spoilers, please.) Are you amused or annoyed by the portrayal of the wealthy on the show? Do you think it is an accurate portrayal?

I am looking forward to us working our way through the series on Netflix now that we've added it to our list of favorites.

I didn't realise it was ending...that's a shame I often find with US shows that they get rid of good ones and keep ones I see as rubbish but I suppose that's a matter of opinion. I loved a cop show called Southland and that ended waaaaay before it should have in my opinion.

@Mike197602 That happened to a cop show I liked called "The Glades." It also ended unfinished.

I watched several episodes of Burn Notice but K doesn't like those kinds of shows so I haven't seen all of them yet.

I've never watched the show. It sounds quite interesting. It sounds as if the show will be on your list of shows to watch. It's nice that we can find suitable entertainment.

It is an interesting show. K and I have watched 2 episodes now. I must say this, if the way the rich and privileged behave on the show is accurate, then I just became a big supporter of confiscatory estate taxes. No one should be able to pass along that kind of money to the next generation so that the next generation can be filthy rich without ever having to work a day in their lives.

Never even heard of it, but we don't subscribe to Netflix. Doesn't sound like the type of programme I would enjoy.

Yes I have watched "Royal Pains" and I am a big fan. I've heard of it described as the medical MacGyver and that's true. The stories are fun and I like the season story arcs where some issues continue from episode to episode. I generally like shows which have a single story that begins and ends in an hour but also has a few arcs that run for the whole season or a few episodes. I really really like this show. I'm pretty much up to date on it so won't make any spoiler comments
