Did you know that there is a Change. org petition going around that has garnered 50,000 signatures in just two days? The petitioners are asking for the right to exercise their Second Amendment Right to bear arms during the Republican National Convention in Cleveland in July. If you haven't read it, the petition is detailed, well thought-out and well-written. It quotes all three of the GOP candidates in statements they have made claiming there should be NO gun-free zones. They have said that people should be able to take their guns everywhere they go. Of course, the Secret Service says "NO" to the idea of guns at the convention ... but the petitioner has not withdrawn the petition. They still expect the candidates and the Republican National Committee to support their Second Amendment Rights. They believe the convention and the delegates will be safer from criminals and terrorists if everyone is armed. What do you think? Should delegates to the Republican National Committee bring along their guns? Or is the idea too crazy for words??

While I support the Second Amendment I think allowing folks to carry at the convention is a very bad idea, especially given what some Trump supporters have perpetrated at his rallies of late. If people with this same frame of mind are brandishing weapons at the convention how could claims not arise that they coerced the outcome with threats of violence.

That is another excellent point. If people are brandishing weapons, others could claim they were coerced to vote a certain way. What craziness!

utterly crazy - fighting has broken out at rallies already. It's an invitation to a massacre

Although I personally don't mind the idea, the trouble is that the person who created the petition as satire, and is a registered Democrat. Heard that on radio news today.

@Rohvannyn - I am not surprised that the person who wrote the petition is a Democrat ... although it was written using exact quotes from things that have been said by the Republican candidates. Not much effort went into creating the satire.
