Reading through HistoryExtra again when I came across an article talking about oddities that happened in April throughout time.
My favorite was the recount of Edison claiming he could end world hunger by a machine he had created. The article was written in a paper of the time on April 1st.
That must have given him a good chuckle for years to come.
The other oddity that amused me was that of the battle between two Henry's. Henry II and Henry, Duke of Guise. Of course that ended sadly, but it was amusing to me because of how ridiculous it was. What people would do for honor!
Here's the article for those interested:
What was your favorite "oddity" from this article? Do you know of any other oddities throughout history?
History Revealed magazine explores some of the strangest things that happened in April through history. This article was first published in the April 2016 issue of History Revealed

Yes History has very much made who we are today, as individual, as a world, as a nation. It's fun to read the little "little known facts" or "oddities" that's for sure. I hope you enjoy the link. Are there any oddities / funny things from history that you know of and might want to share here?

That's a mean prank from Edison!
I always forget about April Fools Day til it's done
I remember a daytime tv programme (it's called This Morning) repeating an older one a few years ago claiming that spaghetti grows on trees
