Last Night? Oh, Joy! (Don't Believe It)

Last Night, after watching a show, I retired for the night. In just a short while, all of a sudden my CPAP breathing machine stopped working. If you have to use one of those, you may know the feeling of instant panic.
I was worried it was the machine. So I turned on the bathroom light to see if it was the electricity in general. Yes and no. What? Yes and no. The power was on, but very dim. I don't know if that is what is called a brown out or not. But let me tell you more.
I have an oil-filled radiator style heater. I turned it off. There was that horrible beep-beep-beep of my backup and surge protector for my computer. I turned that off. My son and wife went around with flashlights. They couldn't call the power company because of a very loud hum in the phone.
I decided to make the best of things. I got out one of those arm-chair look-alike pillow thingies you lean against the back of your bed so you can sit up and read. I didn't read. I turned the light off, and hoped I could find a position in which I could breathe and go back to sleep. It failed somewhat. Oh, I didn't suffocate, but I really didn't sleep, either.
This morning, I get up. Hm. No breakfast. No coffee. No warmth. No bath. Can't see to find my clothes. Found 'em but couldn't tie my shoes (I'm 300 lbs, and it's tough enough with light to do it). Couldn't check my email or visit the web. No computer at all. I have an iPad that was given me and it was charged, but the router wasn't up.
Do you get the feeling I may have been a little grumpy? But, oddly enough, at 7:06 am, the power came back on. It made me mad almost. I think it's likely the power company staff didn't want to go to work in the middle of the night and fix it in the dark, because they probably figured people were asleep anyway. [This was me just blowing steam. In fact, the outages were fairly extensive due to winds and they worked on them.]
Well guess what? Not everyone. Plus this morning I may be catching a cold. Does any of this sound familiar?

Oh, you have a tough night and day. I hope you're okay now despite the cold that you might be catching.
