What's in Your Basement?

Basements are for storage. Okay, also laundry, water heater, and furnace are vital parts of the basement. However, storage is King. I have boxes and boxes of precious items that I haven't seen in years. I have outdated clothes. I have a typewriter that will never be used again. I have pottery, art, and silverware. Also, books, book, and more books. Games galore are stored in the basement. So much to explore. One day I will see what I have missed.

Not many Australian homes have basements but there is often a storage area of some sort that holds everyone's treasures.

It's just funny that a lot of things go untouched once they are down in the basement.

@zebra2222 Out of sight, out of mind I guess. I have things in boxes in some built-in cupboards and occasionally I go through them just to see what rubbish I'm holding on to.

Our basement is pretty empty compared to yours. But we do have an old fashioned typewriter there also.

No one wants an old fashioned typewriter. They are a relic of the past.

I own a house with a basement. I am building a "fish room" so that I can raise and breed aquarium fish and invertrabrates. I will be selling the young to aquarium clubs, stores and wholesalers. I also have room for a crafts area where I put together crafts that I sell at Native American pow wows.

We don't have a basement but we have storage room where we keep all the stuff which are unused. We check it from time to time to see if there things that should be disposed already.

Hello! I don't have a basement or a storage room since I live in an apartment. I have to be very selective with what I buy and what I keep because of the limited space but if I had one, I would definitely move the laundry and the house cleaning products and devices over there!

You are lucky to have a basement. I have never enjoyed one and grew up in a house built in the 30s.

That sounds like a giant storeroom for you. I live in high rise apartment, so we do not have basement. Our space is very limited, and we have to avoid accumulating stuff.

Hi, Steve! We don't have a basement and I'm not sure if other people from my country have basements. We have stockrooms though. I have my law books in there because I don't practice anyway, some old clothes, old shoes, and some rats maybe hahaha! Typewriter! I am actually searching for a typewriter. i miss the old typewriter that makes a loud sound when I tap on the keyboard. My secretary told me she has one at home and she will check if it's still in working condition because I told her I'm going to buy it!
