I think I should change my title to this or seek a job as one. It takes creativity to come up with ways to keep the bills paid and keep the wolves away from the door sometimes. Of course, it's not only me. Most Americans know this all too well. We can only hope our management skills can help us find ways to keep our financial head above water, even though sometimes it feels like we are going down for the third time... Do they give degrees for a "creative finance manager"? if not, they definitely should!! (Picture is my own. It is one of our old puppies, a Jack Russell Terrier. We no longer have him but he was one of my favorites.) Remember this? Some things never change I guess...
The opening and closing titles for the classic TV show "Good Times."

I can understand this. I'm a little better off than most because back in the mid 90s I decided I did not want any more credit card debt. I refinanced my pickup and paid off all my credit cards. Then I cut all my credit cards up. Since the interest on the pickup loan was about a third of the credit cards' I paid the loan off fairly fast. (Did you know if you paid the minimum payment every month on your credit card it will take you 10 years or more to pay off the debt and you will have paid nearly double of what it would have cost if you paid cash? Credit card companies love instant gratification.)

@RichardMeister ... Quite like me.. Mortgage loans are all that I have. I am in no hurry to clear them because they also give me tax rebates.

@jahunt When there was something I wanted I would save my money until I had enough cash to buy it. I do have a mortgage on my house but that's the only loan I have. It's a bit hard to save up enough to pay cash for a house.

@jahunt Agreed, and that was a very low-budget show. It was almost always in the apartment, lol.

I am sure that would be a very useful degree.
