Making A Flyer

The sales kind, not the Wright kind. I got home from work today to find a honey-do list stuck in my computer keyboard. Three of the items had to do with trying to sell our popup camper. I took care of one of those, am (sort of) in the middle of taking care of the second one, and the third will have to wait until tomorrow as the office I need to call is already closed for the day. The list also included making an appointment for Ace at the groomer. I did get the appointment made. The flyer I am making is for the popup camper we are trying to sell. My sister has offered to put some up for us down her way. She will also help us get it advertised in several newspapers down that way as she works for the company that publishes the papers. I am trying to get a newspaper ad placed here in our town, but that is the call that will have to wait until tomorrow. If you were looking for a popup camper, what sort of information would you want to see on the flyer? Have you ever tried selling a camper before? If so, how were you able to find a buyer?

Will you be putting it in the thrifty nickel? There's also another free paper like the thrifty nickel but made out of Salisbury. I can't for the life of me remember the name of it at the moment though. I do not really know all that much about pop up campers but I suppose I'd want to know how many it could sleep and if it has a working sort of kitchen unit to it. Will be getting a new one or is this just getting rid of something you never use anymore?

We are selling the popup because we bought a travel trailer this year as K and I are both getting older and needed something with a few more of the comforts of home when we travel. The popup does have a sink, gas stove, and a small fridge. The gas stove can be used inside or out.

@DWDavis Well this is definitely the time of year to sell it. I hope you can get a buyer for it soon.

I've never tried to sell one @DWDavis but I'd want to know: age, size, cost, appliances. It does look like a nice one.

Thank you. We've tried to take good care of it, knowing we only planned to keep it a few years before moving into something bigger.

We will be trying to sell our bus/motor-home soon. I guess buyers would want to know the size and dimensions, and the weight for starters. That's a lovely photo of it. It looks very impressive.

I have included that information in the flier I've drafted. I've also added some interior and exterior pictures.

Craigslist? I've never sold anything, so I'm far from an expert. A friend on mine put a bunch of high dollar items on there and got a lot of responses. Sold everything but his mom's furniture, which now sits in our living room. Worth a try.

I've got it on Craigslist and RVTrader.com. I'm also going to be putting it in the local paper and some papers down closer to the coast.

I would put it in the local buy sell trade groups here. If the price is good it sells itself.

I know there is a local buy, sell, trade publication up in town and I will probably look into them. My sister also works for the company that publishes 3 different city newspapers and she'd going to place adverts for me in those.

I think that I would ask to see it set up so that I could see the condition of it on the inside. Any updates, or improvements-garage stored, new tires etc, should be listed.

We weren't able to garage store it, but we did keep a tarp on it through the winter in addition to the cover that we put over it when it's not set up. I have put the camper in a part of the yard where I can set it up if someone wants to see inside, and can even run power out to it if they want to see how everything works.

Size and price? Whatever is important to you will probably be important to the next buyer.

I've tried to include information about the things I would be looking for in a popup. The things that K and I liked about this one when we bought it. I just hope to include that feature that will catch someone's attention and make them say, "That's the one for me."
