Today my friend Lili came for a visit. As she feels that I´m her older sister, she comes to unburden her soul while we have coffee and she smokes herself to death in my terrace. She is quite in charge of her very old mother who, in her turn, is in charge of Lili´s schizophrenic brother. I listen and toast some bread, take out some Philadelphia cream cheese, mash an avocado and make a nice repas. Later on, while we were still talking in the terrace and I was telling her about Leticia´s latest news (my friends all love her), I brought the apricot brandy I made with the apricots from my tree. She pronounced it wonderfil although I drank more. In my country there are strict laws about drinking and driving. Have you ever made any sort of liquor at home?

Apricot brandy is a very good drink, although I have never tasted a home brewed version.

I buy a strong grape liquor. I found a translation from Spanish "firewater". Does it mean anything to you? I add peeled ripe but not too ripe apricots and let it stand in a jar for 2 weeks at least. Then I take out the apricots and make a thick syrup and add as much as needed. Finally I thicken it with a bit of gum. There! I hope the tranlation went well.

No I have never have as I don't drink any liquor. Your friend should stop smoking before she starts to have problems with her lungs. One of my sons was hit by a drunk driver but luckily my son was okay after he came out of the hospita. The man had many drunk driving tickets and was sent to prison because it was a hit and run.

You cannot make a smoker stop until the person decided to do it. My friends only smoke outside though.
