Roger Stone Threatens Republican Delegates

Trump ally and advisor Roger Stone, while not technically a member of the Trump campaign, has clearly and unambiguously threatened to tell Trump supporters what hotel rooms to look for delegates who vote against Trump at the Republican Convention are staying in. Stone has also called for Trump supporters who are not delegates to gather in Cleveland to demonstrate and protest, in other words, intimidate, delegates into voting for Trump. Stone has told the media that he is planning a Day of Rage should it look like the establishment Republicans are trying to steal the nomination from Trump. The Donald has denied any connection to Stone's comments and claims he is not behind Stone's plan or actions. Does the rhetoric being spewed by Stone concern you? Is it reminiscent of the Fascist Party tactics of Mussolini in 1920s Italy? Do you believe The Donald is not behind Stone's moves?

I am not an American but I find many of the stories I am reading very unsettling.

I certainly understand that. Especially since it's all going on right next door.

Donald Trump is a lot of things, but I don't think dishonest is one of them. So no, I don't believe he would be.

Would you think it dishonest to refuse maintenance and pest control on rent controlled apartment buildings until the conditions were so horrible the tenants he couldn't evict had to move out because the apartments became unlivable. After which he went in and cleaned them up and rented them to Section 8 refugees whose rent, 300 to 400% higher than the previous tenants, was being paid for by the taxpayer? I think that was pretty dishonest, but Trump thought it was a smart business move and it made him millions of dollars. And not condemning Stone, but simply saying he cannot control what Stone does, isn't lying, but it isn't exactly ethical either.

@DWDavis Sorry, I don't know much about him, but I always thought he was at least honest in an unethical way. What Stone did will not do much for his image.

@BelleStarr Trump thinks he's teflon and nothing will stick to him. He might not have given the order, but some of the things Donald's said would certainly give Stone the idea he had to go ahead to say what he did.

The question is whether Stone had the Donald's blessing, or was acting on secret orders.

Trump can deny it all he likes, but his crazy rhetoric is what leads others, perhaps more unhinged than he, to make threats like this.

I fully agree. What a mess we have this year. Between the two major political party candidates there is not a single one I would vote for for President. If this is the best we as a nation can come up with I fear for our future.

@DWDavis I will support Hillary as the best of the bunch, no question there for me.

@JamesHxstatic I wonder if Hillary will be so hobbled by the e-mail scandal that she won't be able to be effective even is she does win. If she's indicted, Congress, unless the Dems get control, probably won't even take her calls. If she's not indicted, they'll all say it was because the White House quashed it for political reasons.

Crazy, but not unexpected. If Trump is not directly in on Stone's plan, he is doing nothing to stop it.

You are exactly right. When his followers turn out to be racists and fascists, Trump say he can't help who his supporters are, but he won't outright condemn them and tell them they're not welcome under his tent. It's the same way with Stone.

@norcal That is true. Donald has no problem with the idea of silencing and censoring those who disagree with him.

I sure hope he isn't behind Stone's moves. I'm afraid the whole contested convention thing is going to wreak havoc on this county. There are way too many people on both sides stirring up trouble and it will only get worse.

Trump may not be directly in contact with Stone, but I feel certain he approves of what Stone is doing and won't come out and condemn the man for his rhetoric or tactics.

@DWDavis Stone is a nut case. I wish Trump would come out and denounce him. If he doesn't, it's just one more nail in his political coffin.

I don't know what to make of it. So many things get slung around during campaigns (maybe especially this one?) That I don't know what to believe anymore.

I've thought for a long time that Trump comes across more like a spoiled and petulant child than like a Presidential Candidate.
