Went to See the Doc

This morning I took my dogs to the vet as Honey needed a heartworm test and her heartworm medication. BonBon I wanted to be mirco chipped and have her rabies shot. While there I had the vet cut their nails back and she checked their ears and commented on how clean their ears were then she checked their teeth and said she hadn't seen such nice white teeth like theirs in a long time. I told her I buy them the Nyla Bones and they love them, they chew on them and it also cleans their teeth. She complimented me on how good they acted and not afraid to come there at all.

Their lack of concern over visiting there is also to the credit of the vet.

@Asylum Yes our vet is really good with them and will entice them with a treat if needed, when a procedure is done she will give them a treat which they love.

I'll have to try the Nyla bones. I haven't heard of them before but anything that has to do with their teeth, is good in my book. Bella is getting older now and I don't want her to start having trouble with her teeth.

I swear by the Nyla bones as they can chew on them and they whiten their teeth at the same time. You will notice a difference.

the vet does my pom's nails too, he is not a polite boy when it comes to his toes

Yeah for a good Vet check up :-) Working in a vet clinic I know how expensive those visits are and those vaccines are so inexpensive but they mark it up, its nuts.

@TiarasOceanView No and it is a very tiny needle that goes in the back of their neck, it doesn't hurt them.

The microchip is about the size of a grain of rice and it like getting a vaccination, it is over really fast :-)

@PainsOnSlate I have always socialized my dogs so they are good around strangers and I do try to keep them healthy. Thanks they love laying by each other.

Sounds like a good Vet visit. Both my dogs are petrified of the Vet and the office. I just deal with it best I can. Our Sally is a ball catcher from way back so her teeth are about ground down. I guess stubby teeth is the norm for such active pups. I love your peaceful photo.

@Marcyaz Our Leah is a lanky 85 pounder. The Vet has a little lobby area that two swinging doors. I did not think about this once as I walked out with Leah one morning. She got hit in the butt by a door. She already had feelings about the smells etc. Now she is super leery of such places. Bad me.

You sound like you really take care of your pets. It's easy for anyone to say that they love their pets but I have known a few people to not care for them like you do. There is a huge difference between loving a pet and showing it that it's loved.
