I just read a post by @Hatley .Patsie was worried about having fish for dinner. It seems that where she lives, they either give fish or seafood on Fridays, thinking of catholics. She talked about fish smell. I love fish, but I know that with fish and seafood we have to be more careful tham with any other meat. I remember that after the earthquake we had in Feb, 27, 2010, we did not have electricity during 3 days in my city. I did not have problems with the freezer, in spite of being Summer. I remember that I though hard where had I placed the piece of meat I was going to take out and then, after that, I opened fr freezer. Still, in soite that the fish I had there remained hard frozrn and so did the seafood, I prefered to throw it away. We have so much sea in my country, that we know what to do and what not to do. If a fish smells, we must part with it.

I remember my mother-in-law bringing me fish every so often. She would buy it when it was marked down in price. When I opened it to prepare it for a meal the smell of fish was overpowering. Clear sign that it had spoiled. I bagged it up and brought it to the dumpster. She was appalled to hear that I had thrown it out. I told her that it was spoiled and she started off on a rant. I told her that if it troubled her so much that I threw it out that she should buy it fresh next time and not marked down.

@marguicha I appreciated that she would bring me food that was marked down, but I told her absolutely no fish please! She did eventually stop bringing it to me. Then she started with half rotted vegetables and fruit. Wow.
