Dead Ringer

ScribbledAdNauseum reminded me of this in one of her post. When I lived in California I went into a store and after shopping for a while I looked up for some reason and there just a few feet away was a person who looked like my brother. My first thought was what is he doing in California and then this isn't happening, it can't be. Anyway to make a long story short he wasn't my brother but was a dead ringer for him. I did talk to him and told him he looked so much like my brother it was unbelievable, he laughed and said I never thought there could be two of me.

It is highly unusual to actually find someone that does look like someone else. They say we all have one.

@TiarasOceanView Seems it is not unusual at all since so many people have experienced this.

There has to be many occasions where two very similar looking people encounter each other, which must be an odd experience.

@Marcyaz I would have considered it more bewildering.

I found a number of people in California that looked like people I knew at college in Kansas. It is a spooky feeling for sure.

@GardenGerty It is a really spooky feeling as my broher lived clear across county and I couldn't figure out why he would be in a store in CA. near where I lived.

My aunt swears my twin is in NY, she thought it was me and called to the girl. The girl went up to her and said that's not my name. My aunt apologized and said my niece is your twin! Lol. That was pretty cool-especially since I was born and raised in NY and never saw her. It's weird how this happens but I have heard everyone has a twin in the world.

For the longest time I would see this lady in WalMart. I would greet her, and call her Janet. She looked very much like a former co worker named Janet. I had to laugh.

@LovingMyBabies Isn't that funny and your aunt even thought it was you. It is really strange how this happens.

I enjoy experiences like that. It provides a chance to chat in a friendly way with a stranger.

That's very cool you found someone who looks like your brother. I have doubles all over the place. People tell me about someone who looks like me often.

Lol! I get that wherever I go. We thought we saw Kenny Rogers in a restaurant in Laguna Beach, and although possible, it wasn't him.

My son had the same thing happen when he went out drinking a couple weeks ago with friends from work. He saw a man in the bar who looked just like his father. Of course that was impossible as his father passed this past July, still it made him uneasy to say the least.

lol yeah that happens a lot with me. I think I see a certain person but it's not them. So many people do look alike. Apparently we all have a doppelgänger.
