My mans been watching the same movies over and over so I decided to go to the library and grab some new ones for him to watch. I really had no interest in watching anything. I saw Straight Outta Compton on the shelf and thought it was some gang or thug movie. He popped it in last night to watch and I decided to go in and watch it too. I don't care much for rap but this movie had a pretty decent story line. The part in the movie that really shook me up was the police brutality and prejudice to African Americans. I enjoyed that this movie (and the bands lyrics) was put out there to educate people on what goes on. It just really breaks my heart knowing that this awful stuff really occurs.

I have not heard about this movie, in fact, I haven't been watching movies for quite a long time and not following any updates as well. Good that you enjoyed to watch that movie. I always like to watch movies that have a good story line. I used to think the world is beautiful when I was young, and felt disappointed when I discovered it was not, but now I accept that it's the reality.

@shaggin I remember Gandolf, I think I only watch the first movie. Perhaps you can watch movies with friends or sister?

My son and I were just watching a movie called Mr. Holmes. We watched an hour and it was pretty boring. It is his turn on the playstation 3 again so he wanted to stop the movie and we will finish it later. The guy who plays Mr. Holmes is the same guy who played Gandolf in the Lord of the Rings movies. I hate watching movies alone so once my man moves out I will only be watching movies when my kids want to watch them with me.

@kaka135 No one really likes to come over and watch movies like that. I have posted on facebook plenty of times but no one comes. The only ones who want to come over are men... and that's for a different reason.. which is not what I want.

@Hatley It still happens today. I see it all over facebook. I am glad that this gets out there as people are more aware of it happening. The police like to cover things up. This movie shows what happened in real life and what continues to happen today. Its very sad.

I had never even heard of this movie before I saw it at the library. I had no idea what it was about until I started watching it lol. I do think that the racial issues in the movie are what made it so highly rated. It was really neat all the different rappers depicted in the movie. Snoop Dog, Dr. Dre, Tupac etc.
