Have you ever taken Melatonin?

Have you ever taken this natural sleep aid? I just took one about twenty minutes ago as I have to be up at 12:45am tonight and I am just wondering what your experiences have been. Im setting like 3 alarm clocks just to make sure I get up. If youve ever taken it - does it make you groggy? How long does it let you sleep for? Thanks in advance :-)

I have never taken sleep aids, I can usually sleep within a few minutes after going to bed. I hope it works for you and you can wake up on time.

I take it on occassion-it does help a little. One thing to be careful of is that it can supress REM sleep, which can lead to REM overload...which can lead to really bad nightmares. I prefer it to sleeping pills though, as it's a natural suppliment. Sometimes when people take it they have a difficult time getting out of bed the next morning because depending on how much one takes, it can be a bit potent...but that feeling of deep relaxation isn't a bad thing.

My son is 4 and takes Melatonin since he is ADHD and don't have a sleep schedule. We try over and over so the dr recommended it to him
