Day 24 Psalm 24 Psalm 24:1 < The earth is the LORD’S, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. 2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods. 3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who shall stand in his holy place? 4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. 5 He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. 6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah. 7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. 8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. 9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. 10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah. Everyone wants to go to heaven. If you ask someone where they will spend eternity you get two different answers: I hope I go to heaven or I know I’m going to heaven. Those who hope to go to heaven haven’t made the heart decision for Jesus Christ. And those who KNOW they’re going to heaven have done so. Jesus told Nicodemus the only way he could go to heaven – the kingdom of God. John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus said unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8 The wind blows where it lists, and thou hear the sound thereof, but cannot tell whence it comes, and whither it goes: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. Everyone is born of water – the natural birth, but not everyone is born of the Spirit – accepts Jesus as Savior and Lord – accepting the finished work of the cross for their salvation. So then, who can enter heaven to be with God and our Lord Jesus Christ for eternity? We are all sinners. Our hearts are black with sin. Our thoughts are immoral. If a person must be pure and clean, how will we get to heaven? Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience: 3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Who can go to heaven? Everyone who has clean hands and a pure heart, and the only way to do that is to accept Jesus as Savior and Lord, and confess your sins to God and he will forgive you and wipe away your sin making you pure and clean. Is your salvation assured? Do you know you are going to heaven? If not, you can make that heart change right now. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for making a way for me to enter into your kingdom to be with you forever. Help me live my life pure and holy before you, confessing my sins and receiving your forgiveness when I have done something wrong. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
