Thanks for the Memory, Kobe

Since tonight is Lakers legend Kobe Bryant's final game, I figured I'd tell a short-but-true story.
One night, a good friend and I went to a Nuggets/Lakers game in Denver. Of course, we both were rooting for the Lakers.
After the game, Kobe and Derek Fisher were named co-players of the game and both had to do an interview for TNT, who showed the game.
Since we still had beers to finish, we headed over to the players exit.
As Kobe walked into the tunnel, he noticed my Lakers jersey (Nick Van Exel) and, since I had my hand over the railing, he reached up and gave me a high five. I didn't wash that hand for two months (just kidding.)
This happened long ago. It was back when he still wore #8.
I got a high five from Kobe Bryant, and it was really cool.

He went out with a bang. Scored 60 points last night.

@Ronrybs - As a Lakers fan, I'm sad to see him go, but he has been injured a lot the last couple seasons. It was time.

@teamfreak16 It made the teletext news here on the BBC, not that I read beyond the headlines!

That's a thrill! It's been a bad 3 years for the Lakers and now with Kobe, they are totally irrelevant. Just think. 20 years. That's a long time in sports time.

Who would ever have thought that the Clippers would be the best team in LA?

@teamfreak16 You got that right! But LA will always be a Laker town. No matter how bad the Lakers are, they have 16 championship banners hanging. The Clippers: 0.
