I've been consistently listing on eBay for 1.25 year now. On 15th of January 2015, I made my first sale. And today, 15 months later, I got my 100th sale!
I understand it's hardly anything to be too excited about - I mean, that comes to only 6 or 7 sales in average per month...
But the point is, I told myself when I started this to be consistent and I'm happy that I've made it so far...
Some of my readers may still remember I used to regularly post about my eBay journey on Bubblews. That was one way for me to motivate myself to keep going. Even though I do not make too much profit from my sales, there's always a lot of satisfaction that I gain from each one. And hey, even if, say, I only made $1 from each sale, that's still $100 I didn't have 15 months ago, isn't it?

@sishy7 What exactly does that mean? Or should I not ask? Too easy to guess your identity if we knew what it was? (Probably. If so, I apologize, hon.)

Good for you. Are you selling household items you don't use anymore or what type of things are you selling? I've never been interested in trying to sell anything on there, and I'm not sure that I ever will.

Many years ago when I was really active on there I listed all kinds of items including clothing and stuff I found around my house - kinda like having an online garage sale... But now I'm only listing light and flat items that would be easy for me to ship.

@Asylum I used to employ a woman who sold things for me. She did have an exstablished "store" and was profitable for all of her clients.

But cost and returns matter! Cost includes internet charges, power charges, computer depreciation, light fan and heating, and your health charges. Sitting continuously can affect circulation in legs. So how many hours have you been devoting to that, and how much are you getting for it vis a vis all such things. If those charges are more than $100 then you know you had more than $100 15 months ago. :(

I remember you talking about eBay, but not any details about it. We also discussed Swagbucks and several other money earning sites.
I still have problems remembering things, so I don't act too excited about anything anymore. I never know when I've already talked about it with someone. (shrugs!)
Good job on staying consistent and on getting your 100th sale on eBay!

@sishy7 I know we also talked about Bubbs, but your are right, I can't think of any other sites we discussed... Oh, I did ask if you were on WebAnswers, then we talked about it for a little bit.
That's still progression, hon. It isn't a lot, but you aren't trying to pay rent with your earnings or anything like that, right?

And as long as you enjoy the process, then it's great. But if the process is painful for you, me or anyone, then the amount earned needs to be much higher to justify doing it. I am glad that you find it rewarding in both meanings of the word. Congrats.

Being consistent helps with everything! People get easily bored or avoid the constant effort so they quit. The same happens with exercise. I think that learning how to be consistent is very important for our goals and success. Congrats for your ebay achievments!

Makes sense to me. :) I have never stopped and figured it out, but I'm sure I don't make to much on my Ebay sales either--yet, it's still fun to do.
Congrats !

I think that you are going quite well, lets face it this is small business and it takes a long time to build a business.

I've never sold anything on eBay. I've bought a lot, but never sold.
