Now I Recognize Him

I am sorry, friends. For the last two days I had been so busy that I,despite all my efforts, could not share with you what transpired between me and the guy who I had failed to recognize and who was claiming to be my childhood friend at a function a couple of days ago,and how I could recognize him. I met him that very night.I had decided that I would directly, but politely ask him who he was and what his name was.But before I could ask him his name,he said,'Let us go to the playground where we used to play football.I want to relive those days.' We went to the playground. He looked around and pointing at a place smiled and said,'Do you remember this place. This is the spot where I had got severely injured and then you and all our friends had immediately taken me to the hospital.' And everything became crystal clear.I reminded everything. So,he was Ashok, one of my not-so-close friends. He had fallen here and got injured. I smiled, turned to him and hugged him. 'What happened?'Amazed he asked. 'Nothing.Like you I am reliving our old days.'I said.I didn't tell him that I had completely forgotten him. I am glad that his words helped me remember who he was without asking him anything.

It can be embarrassing when you can't remember someone - I'm glad you found out who this was in the end.

@jaboUK,Yes,and if that 'someone' is so elated to see you,it becomes even more embarrassing. My friend still doesn't know that he helped me regain my memory.
