Exploring short cuts while driving ..

This evening, my boyfriend and I went to the beach to go walking + light jogging. During the time we go, it's rush hour traffic and there's a few ways you can get to the beach. My boyfriend has been telling me there is a short cut but I told him Google Maps says there is only one path from the direction we're coming from.. After a few times of telling him to follow the regular way we go. He tried his "short cut" today and it was successful. We got there much quicker and saved literally 10 minutes! When he's right - he knows I sit there quietly and am smiling. Whereas if his short cut did not work - he would hear a little bit of nagging! Haha. Are you like that too? Do you trust your man and his sense of directions? Or are you good with directions?

Hehe - I don't mind looking for short cuts but if it's rush hour traffic I don't want to end up getting lost a little and it'll take us longer to get to the destination. But it was a success, hehe.

@SIMPLYD It was our first time taking the route and I'm glad it was a successful route. If not, I would probably have nagged at him and be paranoid since it was rush hour traffic.

@infatuatedbby Well, if it's rush hour , i suppose your boyfriend knows where the shortcut is.

We both tend to be a little challenged when we are venturing into new places. I have the map and directions handy while he does the driving. Even with great directions we still tend to make a wrong turn. Of course he refuses to stop to ask for directions. He will drive 10 miles off course and then finally stop to ask for directions.

Hehe - I rely on my phone's GPS also. My boyfriend doesn't - he just refers to his GPS on his car (doesn't input directions) but looks from the guideline map. I don't even understand how he knew but he said you can.... I stopped him last time but he saw me on myLot while he was driving so he went his route. It worked out but I know what you mean - he won't pull over to ask for help hardly.

Most of men know short cut as they always in hurry to reach destination so they may try it before because while girl go with boy friend or husband if that time they know if they wrong then lot of have to hear of their wife or girl friend..

sometimes, but i rather check it out myself because i do not know if the short cut will give me driving problems like unfamiliarity of the place and humps and bumps too

When we drive to unknown areas (short cuts) I tell him to drive slower because we're not aware if there is a hill, sharp turn, etc also.

@ridingbet The area is a higher class since they live by the beach - but I totally agree with you! The area since we're not familiar with the route.

@infatuatedbby besides, you will not know also, about the residents living there; they might be bad people.

I like to do some short-cuts but I have to be with a companion.

I like short cuts also especially if people don't know about them. But if it doesn't go as planned and takes longer - I'll get a little upset lol.

@infatuatedbby If it takes a longer route, then it is no longer a short-cut, correct?
