What lies do you most often tell yourself?

I think as humans we all lie to ourselves whether we'd like to admit it or not. For example, if I'm pretty sure something is going to fail, I try to remind myself and "lie to myself" that things are great. Sometimes I think lying to myself gets my self through the day, we all hit road blocks that we reminisce about that we shouldn't.But then we lie to ourselves and say that we're, "Okay" and we won't try to think of it again. At least that's the kind of lies I find that I tell myself. (Question from conversation starters world)

I tell myself that everything is alright when it is not! Once, I was driiving in a car that needed some minor repairs, The driving was ok until the headlights went off! I had to pull over with the lights off until the car stopped.

Well, I don't think the car liked the idea that you thought it was okay.

@polyxena No, it didn“t and because of that, I had to get rid of it! I conserved the car for a year; after which I had to buy another one.

Sometimes I lie to myself that I will finish of some work in the day but finally put it off for another day.

Hopefully you finish it though. I'd forget or keep telling myself I'd get to it.

thats how i have to do lately. worst thing is seeing people we love lie to themselves so don't move on. like her thinking and saying her bf will stop cussing her and get better.

Honestly, I don't lie to myself. I really don't see the point. I'm not going to believe my own lies, and as I tend to be very pragmatic about most things I'm not much of a dreamer.

Good point. Maybe I guess the word I'm looking for isn't lies as much as I think the word reassurance works better

I tell myself that one piece of candy won't make a difference. A whole bag later, I know I was lying to myself.

I think that I would probably go the other way... but then it still is lying I guess. If something goes wrong... I always think that its my fault!
