Baby Niece was proudly sporting her new shoes today. They're her first pair and they're very cute. We think they're mice. Anyway, she loves them, despite me being convinced that she'd hate wearing shoes on her tootsies. After all, this is the baby who insists on pulling her socks off, regardless of the weather.
If she does become a lover of shoes it will mean I now have someone to leave my weird little collection to. It will be helpful if her feet stop growing when she's a size 6 {Europe 39, USA goodness knows}, obviously.
I currently own: four pairs of Doc Martens {two floral, two knee length}; three pairs of Irregular Choice {oh, good gracious ... Google them, they are divine}; two pairs of Red or Dead {one fancy glittery posh pair, and one hey, didn't you have shoesies like this when you were six! t-bar pair}; two pairs of Converse {one pair sparkly, the other being Wonder Woman Converse}; one pair of purple Nike trainers, one pair of black heeled shoes with ribbons, my black steampunk Hush Puppies and a pair of black wedge-heeled sandals. I have probably - most definitely - left some out.
I am the girl who lived in one pair of Doc Martens, come rain or shine, summer or winter, for about four years. Shoes didn't really interest me until I discovered the shop Schuh and fell head over heels in love with the beautifully ridiculous and quirky footwear they sell.
And now I have a bit of competition from a female in the immediate family. Hmmm, I wonder if I can convince her Mummy and Daddy to buy her some adorably cute and teeny little Doc Martens.
Time to sleep, to dream of frolicking tiny shoes, glittering in the sparkly moonlight of a shoe heaven.

I spent my uni days living in simple, plain black, Doc Martens. Anybody who knew me then has no idea where this obsession came from!
