Are You a Handy Jane?/Handyman?

Sometimes we women have to do things at home when no man is at home and no one to rely on to for fixing things. This morning, the cable TV didn't work because there could be a power outage at the place where the office of the Cable provider is located. We have electricity in our place, but no cable channel. So I got the cable wire I found at our storage area. It has a threaded jack in it so I can attach it to the back of the TV so it can intercept television channels. It was a success, I can watch my favorite noontime show because I can intercept that channel through that improvised antenna.

Whether male or female I think we all should have a level of being able to fend for ourselves. It is call self reliance. I am actually quite handy, but it has come from a desire to try and do something and a lot of trial and error.

Nice to see you here, @desertdawg, and thanks. Yes, we have to be creative or innovative when we can not have someone to fix things for us. Like you do,it is mostly a trial and error thing.

I don't know, but I wanted to tinker on things; and am not an engineer but have an agriculture course; then journalism.

Yes, we could be so creative when we wanted to achieve something like having to catch up with favorite TV programs.

There are some things I know how to fix. Most things, however, I need help with. Thankfully, now that I'm in my apartment, I can get the help I need pretty easily! :)

That's good, you also can fix things but at times, we do need someone to do it.

Thanks, @jaboUK, yes, necessity makes us creative. I really like to watch that show so I thought of removing the cable wire then replace it with improvised wire to get the radio/tv waves.
