While visiting discussions, responses and comments about making a good earning from Mylot,I often come across a word,'Thread.'
The dictionary meaning of 'thread' is 'a long strand of a fibre like cotton or nylon etc',but when the same word is used in the context of earnings from discussions and responses,it acquires a quite different meaning.
When I first came across this word while reading a post,I thought it might mean a long conversation on a particular topic.
Was I right? I still have a vague, blurred idea about 'thread.'

This is interesting. Though I know 'thread' refers to the whole conversation about the discussion, I didn't really go and find out why it's called thread.
I just found this definition and the meaning of 'thread' can actually go beyond the sewing thread.
something continuous or drawn out: as
a : a line of reasoning or train of thought that connects the parts in a sequence (as of ideas or events)
b : a continuing element
c : a series of newsgroup messages following a single topic

thread can also simply be a post on a message board or other such site. I believe this refers to the fact I can comment, and so can other people, then when you comment back you have many little convos going off in their own directions, you can follow the "thread" or connections back to the main post, but by now the ends are all over the place!

@Jessicalynnt,You are right. You may as well say it is exchange of thoughts on a particular topic between two or more people who participate in the discussion.
