Going Down With A Flu

It started with an itchy throath a couple of days. Then followed by a cold yesterday and my calves started to ache last night.
Earlier today, I feel that my head started to ache and my cold worsened.
I think this due to the intense heat here for the past few days. My lips are dry... I think I'm close to being dehydrated.
I've been taken lots of water already. I think I need more.... And of course I have taken my meds already.

You need isotonic beverage, not water.
You can buy those sports drink meant to replenish thirst for those runners and active sports persons.
Your body loses more than water so drink more water is no use.
You have to balance the electrolytes in your body.

Lots of water, citrus juices and hot soups will ease the discomfort!

Take a spoonful of locally grown, cold-pressed honey. Mix in some cinnamon and tumeric. The combination is anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial. Slowly let spoon it into your mouth and let it melt in your throat. It might cure you. If not, at least it tastes good!

Sounds good. Unfortunately there are no honey available here. My substitute is either a hot soup spiced with one hot chilli ( which I had last friday evening) or I'd chew about a quarter inch ginger. Works wonders on my throat and nose. :)
