I watched this documentary about two years ago. I had posted this on Bubblews. I found this a very interesting doc. It is funny the things we don't realize that Brits brought with them when they came over here. And, cool to think about the amount of game and animals that were here and sad that some are so depleted now.

There was a documentary called Before Columbus on National Geographic. It was very interesting to look at what America was like before immigrants started to moving over here. They brought potatoes, fruit trees alot of diceases and the horse to name just a few when they came.
Before Columbus discovered America in 1492 the continent's landlords were different tribes of Native American Indians such as the Nez Perce, Comanches, Cheyene, Shoshoni, Sioux, Pawnee, Navaho, Arapaho, Crow, Kiowa- Apache, and Blackfoot. Before he did so there were millions of bison on the continent. Can you imagine? The indians burned the plains to make it easier for them to hunt.
While in England only nobels could hunt for meat. The poor commoner was left to eat alot of fish.
I found this to be a very intreresting show.

I'd feel the other way around about that one.

It kills me that they give Columbus the discovery of American considering he landed on the Florida Keys. It was actually Amerigo Vespucci that actually discovered and landed on America first @celticeagle .

Sounds very interesting.
As well as the English the early immigrants to the US were also french and dutch.
New York was originally dutch and Louisiana retains a lot of french influence.
I'd love to visit the US primarily the NE as a lot of my Irish relatives live in boston and new york.

Yes, love the french influence in Louisiana. Idaho reminds me of Ireland.
