She suffered another nose bleed

Philippines

It was weird when I woke up in the middle of the night, went to the back and saw my eldest dog sits on the chair while she bled her nose out. Just like last time, I gave her some anti-biotics and put some ice on her nose for 30 minutes and more. The next morning, I felt relieved that she's okay and not dead. I think the attention seeking puppies were too much for her, and my fluffy kept barking at them while urinating. I sense insecurity and jealousy among them. For the whole morning, she's on the front yard. but every night I transfer her at the back, while the puppies are isolated in another area. Those are just pups, they can't afford to take a stand against a mature roaming cats and I know because fluffy suffered that fate when he was a puppy. When the pups grows older, then the eldest will stay on permanently on the front yard again.

Yes, she is just jealous of the attention for the puppies .

Hello @SIMPLYD my mistake there was I assumed it was the puppies that led her to nose bleed. but I forgot that sniffing butts were actually a way of getting to know the other. And there was a puppy she clearly didn't like.

Hello @shshiju It's shocking to me that this is the third time she had a nose bleed like this.

Hey, you're a pet dad! This is probably the heat, I guess? We give our dogs cold water always. My shih tzu is 9 months old and had her menses. I'll have her stud at 1 year and a half. I desperately want shih tzu puppies!

@Letranknight2015 How old is she? We also have an 8 year-old toy poodle. She never had puppies either. Old dogs may have a hard time giving birth especially if it's their first time.

Hello @maxen07 well, she can never had the urge to mate because she's too old and probably had her time.

It is a good thing that your eldest dog is fine. I also give antibiotics if my dogs are sick.
