Puffins Really

Puffin

I was watching a program on TV that was talking about these Puffins which I don't remember ever hearing about. They are very colorful birds that look somewhat similiar to penguins except they have a colorful beak. Iceland is the breeding home of perhaps 60 percent of the world's Atlantic puffins. The birds often select precipitous, rocky cliff tops to build their nests, which they line with feathers or grass. Females lay a single egg, and both parents take turns incubating it. When a chick hatches, its parents take turns feeding it by carrying small fish back to the nest in their relatively spacious bills. Puffin couples often reunite at the same site each year but it is unclear how these birds navigate back to their home grounds. What do you think of these birds?

There is an island known as Puffin Island just off the coast of North Wales that got the name due to the vast numbers of puffins there.

@Marcyaz I am fairly certain they are a feature on the west coast of the country. Certainly none around here!

I've heard of them before, and looking at it just now reminded me of the bird on Mary Poppin's umbrella.
