This morning was the monthly quilt guild meeting. Yes, another of my monthly activities that I always look forward to. My guild is taking part in the Wichita guild's quilt show in June as in some members have entered quilts, but also our guild will have a boutique shop as a vendor at the show. Right from the start of deciding to do this the group decided that yo-yo's made with fabrics other than cotton might be a good selling item. I had been given an overstuffed shoebox of circles from a gal at church that had just sat around. I've been working on the yo-yo's here and there ever since. Today they decided to have a sewing day in the afternoon after guild. The purpose was to work on making things to sell in the boutique. All kinds of neat things are being made. I sat and worked on the yo-yo's. What I have done of them is in the picture, but that's not near what I want to have done by the end of next month. I sat and divided them by fabric type and have 4 types that I want to get 50 of each made in. Wish me luck!

That is really neat. I wish i could do things like that, I am just a beginner that is for sure. I always start things and then never get them finished.

ha ha ha...if only you could see my sewing'craft room, and the bags and bags of started projects that I have...and all the ones I've not yet started. I have a quilt retreat this weekend and I have put lots of projects in my van already to work on...it's so hard for me to stick to just one project until it's done.

@marsha32 Yeah i am the very same way. But one reason i quit is due to not knowing that i am doing it right. I still have a lot to learn but i have found that the internet has been really helpful to help me learn new things.

@marsha32 I think having the sewing groups that meet really helps you get some things done.

These are to bag up and will be up for sale by the bag full at a quilt show, but I am working on blue and brown for a table runner for a special order, so eventually I will have a finished product picture.

Why is it called a yo-yo and what can they be used for?
