Flat again.

The rear right tyre of the car is always getting deflated after 2 days of driving. Because of this, I and my son went to a vulcanizing shop and have it checked. There were no holes in the tyre but the grease around the hub cub is always removed because the dogs pee on that wheel. I even cover the wheel with, hush, a poster of a candidate for local election, to keep it from getting wet with the pee.
The tyre is okay… for now. Besides, it is already years old and it needs to be replaced with a new one. Hope it won’t get flat when we will go to church on Sunday.
How often do you let your tyres be checked by the automobile shop? Is it when the tyres get deflated, or you bring them routinely?

@ridingbet No, what you imagine are barbed wires are the snow chains, you put them over the tires if there is a lot of snow. The winter tires have deeper tread than summer tires. Deep tread depths allow the tire to manage light snow.

Only when it's deflated. When they expire, I just buy a new one.

i hope the tyre won't get out of air again, because having them inflated every 2-3 days is already expensive, so we thought why not buy a new tyre now?

@toniganzon yes, we will change it tomorrow. yesterday, the tyre went totally down and flat, and the inside was already peeping out.

I hope your tire doesn't get flat anymore.. Not often do I get a flat.. tire inspection is performed when we do oil changes or car related services yearly.

@ridingbet Yes- you are correct. I am glad to hear you got new tires, so you can't prevent from anything happening (accidents).

why every 5 months? is that the normal life expectancy of a tyre? i asked one who works in a vulcanizing shop and he said a tyre should be "alive for only 3 years", then change it when worn-out now.

It depends on where your vehicle is going, my husband used our jeep in going to the farm where their is rough road and our car is used only in the city so it's tire has longer life compared to that tire of our jeep, he is always buying tires for the jeep.

@ida123 i don't drive in farms, or rivers, but just along highways and cemented roads.

I just had one of my car's tire vulcanized. I picked a nail somewhere causing the tire to be flat every other day.

we've had our share of vehicles through the years, but i don't think such a thing happened. it's the firs time i've heard of it, to be honest.

It could also be possible that because of dog's urine on your tire rims, the rim's edges are no longer even and, i your tires are the tubes ones, air could slowly leak out on the rim's edges. Another possible would be dislocated inlet valve. Sometimes, when you add air into the tires, the spring on the inlet valve does not position properly thus the slow leak out of the valve. These are some of the possibilities.

I am not sure how often my brother does that but they had changed one tire last February.
