This day is also referred to as Administrative Professionals Day or Executive Admins.
This is the day we recognize the importance and value of the position to a company or business.
This is a valuable and important job that need good people in these positions.
What can you do to show your appreciation over and above the job role is to give a card with a gift certificate, give flowers, take to lunch or how about candies or a gift basket.
What do you do to show your appreciation?

I bet they would appreciate a paid day off more.

That would be a good thing to give them a paid day off.

I think anything you do is fine, as long as it is accompanied by a sincere and genuine "thank you!"

@Marcyaz If I worked in a job that required me to have a secretary, I would be very thankful all the time. I'd be sure to buy that person a big basket of goodies! Just filled with miscellaneous stuff.

Gift certificates for coffee or a massage would nice. I don't deal much with secretaries so I don't know of any. Hope the good ones have a great day.

On secretary´s day, in my country, the secretaries and other administrative professionals are given the day off; however, this can be extended to two, due to social celebration and excesses.
