Here I am, mylotting alone again. My cousin left a half an hour ago and a little after him, Leticia also left the house. It is a gray evening and I have both heaters on. I don´t want to think about the amount of money I will spend on gas. We are not even in May and here I am, having to heat the house. Winter here means I spend a lot more. Electricity bills are expensive, and so is gas. Yesterday I bought my first LED bulb. I will see whether it works. There were other bulbs that replaced the old ones. They were ugly and none corresponded to what the company claimed. So now I bought just one LED bulb to check. So far, so good. It gives more light than the ones before. They are quite expensive so I´ll buy one by one when I have to change them. Let us see if if is true that they are more energy efficient. Have you tried LED bulbs for enough time so as to know if they are worth it?

We had been using led for more than 5 years now my friend, the first and second generation was terrible, mostly cheap ebay bought and they burned out and did not last as claimed The price has gone down now and the newer ones are brighter and has never failed, think they are cree led bulbs inside, yes that will help with the electric bill

LED bulbs are energy savers. They do not produce heat or the heat produced is minimum; therefore, all the energy is used as light, contrary to the regular bulbs. I like LEDS; however, they may damage sight if looked directly to the where the light is produced.

@marguicha Yes, it is more recommendable, so the beam of light won´t reach the eyes.

I have them in every light fitting. They last much longer than the old type and use much less energy, Cost is coming down too, so double bubble.

They are really expensive here. But if they save alectricity and they last longer, then it is worth it.

I do think LED bulbs consume less electricity.
