Subscribe to a newsletter that provides both - tips for earning money and for saving money.
Received a link to this article titled “12 Simple, Eco-Friendly Ways to Save Money”.
Checked it to see if there was something I wasn't already doing.
I am already doing everything on the list except for two things. So the list had to be modified.
10. Vacation Closer to Home.
Replaced with “Vacation Inside My Home.”
(Can't afford a vacation.)
12. Have Fewer Kids.
Replaced with a giggle and “Way too late to use this advice!”
5 boys, 6 girls. My youngest is still a teenager. The rest are all legal adults.
For the record:
They all try to be eco-friendly.
Also, for the record:
In my humble opinion, the justification presented for even suggesting Tip #12 was royally stupid!

So which kid would you need to send back? What would the world miss out if you had fewer kids.? I would find some other way to save money.

Children don't stay with you forever. If nothing out of the ordinary happens, they grow up and leave home to live their own life. The list was fine until I got to #12. Had to draw the line there.

Some of these sites are great.
I'll give a link to a quite famous UK site that offers money saving tips and earning things but it is more relevant to UK people.
BUT...some of the tips relate to all countries and this is one of the best sites I've ever come across.
Martin Lewis's free site saves you money. Beat the system on credit cards, shopping, special offers, mortgages, council tax, interest rate payments, freebies, loans, loopholes, best buys. Compare, read, discuss and be a Money Expert.

I get what you're saying. We use water filters to filter our tap water. But my husband insists that we buy a few gallons of distilled water for him. He doesn't trust the tap water at our apartment complex at all.

@LadyDuck - In the USA we have a government agency called EPA (Environmental Protection Agency). Their main mission is to protect our “EPA”. By my definition, air and water are our EPA, i.e. equally precious assets. More precious than oil, gold and diamonds.

@cmoneyspinner Three years ago, due to an accident, gasoline leaked inside our water reservoir. it happened a Saturday night. Sunday is the only day that the quality of the water is not checked. I am glad that we never drink tap water, because some people were intoxicated. The filers filtered the smell, but not the gasoline, because it's clean and as liquid as the water.

I didn't think it's accurate. But I figured the writer based the costs on whatever information researched was available or presented as fact!

@cmoneyspinner I'm sure. At least it gives ideas on where we could save money. There are many other ways, too. Lol!
