Sometimes I Hate WordPress

Tonight I was editing an old Squidoo lens I had moved to my own site last year and in the process of revising the size of the header texts before the paragraph of introduction to each of about ten videos, all the videos but the first two just vanished. I'm not very good with the code. WordPress uses different tags for spacing than Blogger. You can't just hit enter and make a make a blank line as in a new paragraph like you can in this editor. I finally figured out I could use the embed code in YouTube to get the videos back, but I don't dare try to create the white space I want between text and videos for fear of having them disappear again. What a mess. I made some improvements, but the video parts are worse. All the videos but one are large in the blog, but one is small. I used the same embed code method for all of them. Go figure. That one wrecks the uniformity of the blog. Do you have something you want to vent about tonight?

@bagarad That's what I said. At Blogjob is where I came across it. My personal blogs are on blogspot. I have used the default theme with customization at Blogjob. I have many posts there. And as for videos I upload my youtube videos.

@allknowing I didn't think you'd be here without a blog or more. Did you list them all in our FOPP group forum? I don't remember seeing them in that thread, but I have a rather bad memory. I don't have time to go check right now. Did you join the group? I think I invited you. It's a private group.

Wordpress is a pain with videos, and Youtube videos are the easiest as far as I found. There is some apps specifically for pages that are going to be all videos, but found they just make it more confusing. I always played with the video size. When you adjust one, you have to adjust them all. All the videos are going to be different in numbers. For example one may be 100 by 80 and another may have to 80 by 60. I also found once you add more it is harder to keep them all lined up. So you may try doing like Mylot does it by only doing one video per blog post or page.

Unfortunately, I'm writing about a parade and covered the whole thing. It took ten videos. a two hour parade would not have fit into one, and most people only would want to watch specific parts of it. It's all part of an annual city celebration that is quite important.

Yes, I want to vent about the fact that we did lose Squidoo. I loved being there and I miss it.

Word Press is great for something but a pain for what concerns the videos. I am also recycling my Squidoo lenses.

Ever since I joined PJ Affiliates I'm starting to revise and move my local hubs to a Wordpress site I've owned but ignored. Fortunately this is the only one with so many videos.

I also dislike Wordpress because I have been wanting to be an Amazon affiliate and since I use the free version I can do any banners.

You can use the banners on blogs here, I believe. Last time I looked I was using some.
