Pen in hand Marking my first thousand A literary millennium Hark hark hark At this Platinum landmark The Queen and Prime Minister ignore A moment worth putting before All the other news out there Earthquakes, bah, why should I care? The World isn’t interested – not one jot A thousand posts on Mylot That’s a milestone, people Something to shout from the highest steeple The front page of every paper, Forget the headlines about a gold bullion robbery caper Have every town crier convey the word Until everyone on the planet has heard This is my one thousandth post Raise your glasses in joyous toast Mark this as a moment in history All written by me – yes me, me, me! The Nobel Prize is as good as won Look at what I’ve gone and done A thousand posts published and read If I wasn’t so humble it might go to my head Angels trumpet forth in divine fanfare Why is this not a national holiday everywhere?
