90 Days Past Due

United States

I am so frustrated! My husband checked the mail on Saturday but decided not to give me the mail until he was heading to work this morning. He knows bills get me irritated and he didn't want to ruin our weekend I am sure. Of course the piece on top is a bill from a doctor I stopped seeing because his billing is a total mess! Well I opened it and it is $474, okay fine I will pay it Friday when we get paid. Wait, 90 days past due? The last bill I got from them which I paid was also 90 days past due. How can a bill be 90 days past due when I just received the very first notice? Not to mention my insurance just processed the claim in April, so again how could I possible be 90 days past due? I am getting ready to call and complain and just pay them. I think they are the sketchiest billers I have ever dealt with.

No don't pay them just ask to talk to the office manager to get this sorted out. Evidently someone in that office does not know what they are doing.

I have contemplated turning them in for billing fraud. Every visit I have had they have charged my insurance over $2000 a visit which seems insane to me! When I called to make my first appointment I told them I had a deductible and needed to know how much was going to be billed since I would be getting the bill, they told me $450 and then turned around and billed my insurance 2300!

@farbuoloxusy It does sound like billing fraud no way should it be that much for an office visit.

This doctor has caused me nothing but issues since my very first bill. I still have three more visits I am waiting to get a bill for so hopefully the next ones are not as expensive.

That's absolutely insane! Definitely call and get this thing straighten out before doing anything.

They said it was past due because they had to appeal it with my insurance company not that I am late. Yet the past due bill came in my name and isn't suppose to be my responsibility until my insurance has judged it that way. I had to pay the 474 today but it still shows that there is a 4100 being charged to my insurance.

Exactly! There billing department is insane. Not to mention the billers are hours away from us. The doctor said he doesn't like dealing with billing issues so he hired a company to do it all for him. I am pretty sure there is a lot of fraud going on.

Yikes! Our electric bill has gone way up the last year but nothing that high. Hopefully your next one comes way down!

That is strange that they would not have sent you something earlier.
