My friend can think of nothing othere than her up and coming wedding and at the moments, it is her wedding cake. She can't decide on what she wants to use as her cake topper. Do you remember your cake and what kind of topper that you had. I don't even know what is in vogue right now.. I had artificial flowers on each layer, following a Christmas these. What would you choose if you were getting married again? Would you go whimsical or traditional??

I wish that I had a video of our wedding... They didn't do that back in the 70s :(

I was very easy going with it and just got a couple of cakes from Sam's Club.

@Susan2015 The frosting is the best! I don't usually like frosting in general but the frosting on those cakes are awesome!

nowadays, there are so many neat ideas. our cake topper was actually quite bland. but then my in-laws gave us this beautiful traditional LLadro, but i was afraid to put it on it for fear of it getting broken... so i stuck with the ugly one. ha ha. now, i'd definitely go whimsical

I didn't have a wedding cake. I got married at the county, so it was just a small little ceremony, no reception. I would definitely have a whimsical cake though!

I'm thinking that if I could have a do over... I would go whimsical too.

I have always thought figurines were a little bit cutesy, so we went with flowers, as well, although I think ours were fresh flowers. Fondant flowers or other decorations might be very nice!

We definitely got a lot of comments on the flowers! I can't remember where the idea came from!

I would choose a pecan caramel cake. They are so delicious. I believe mine was a coconut cake, I don't really remember.

That sounds yummy but so does the coconut cake too. That would have worked for my Christmas wedding... like a layer of snow on the cake. ;)

We had a wedding cake that my husband's sister made for us and we had the traditional bride and groom on top. I am showing a picture that is very much like it was.

I had red artifical roses on my cake I remember that. My mothers best friend made my cake and it was beautiful and absolutely delicious. I loved it. There was a tier that had a little fountain with pillars around it. On the top was a white plastic kind of chalky rather then shiny like porcelin.. anyway it was a girl and a man dancing. I bought it at acmoore.

My mother made my cake, and my father iced it with fancy roses and latticework. It was beautiful. That was over 50 years ago, so I don't think I'll be having another one. However if I did I'd just choose a simple fruit cake with icing.
